NEW GAME DEVELOPMENT UPDATE
Yes, we use the Bedrock platform - integrated with Minecraft Realms.
Some people criticise our preference for Bedrock over Java editions of the game. Although Java is much more 'free' in terms of modding, there are lots of reasons as to why we won't switch to Java and will stay creating on Bedrock Realms.
Device Support
In an effort to be as inclusive as possible, our server runs on Bedrock. This allows crossplay between PC, Mobile and Console - for the many, not for the few.
Multiplayer Ease
It's in the name - Survival Multi Player - but Bedrock allows us to create content for everyone, particularly for those who had already bought Minecraft for Windows or other consoles.
If something's not right, see our Troubleshooting page.
This issue is a Minecraft issue, not a Legends SMP issue. However, we've found that there are 2 possible solutions for this issue.
Solution 1
Wait until the download pauses, then cancel it. Repeat this process until the "Downloading packs [0/3]" number decreases. Keep repeating this process until there is one pack remaining and it downloads.
Solution 2
Go to the OmuraSMP downloads page and download the "Season 6 Update Files". Next, open the .zip file and run each .mcpack file - this will import the Legends SMP updates directly into Minecraft. After importing every .mcpack file, try joining the server again.
We've been making some major adjustments to our perks system recently in an effort to level the playing field. This includes:
- Limiting player earned XP
- Adding new perks at lower levels
- Re-shuffling perks to different levels
- Swapping perk effects
If you don't like a change we've made, there are 2 things you can do...

As of right now, all Legends SMP updates are driven by Minecraft's Resource Pack system. Currently, we don't use Behavior Packs (a.k.a 'Mods'). We've done this to allow for all players to have the opportunity to gain achievements using our server!
However - We have big ambitions for Season 7, going beyond just the core gameplay of Minecraft. We'll be ending support for achievements for Season 7's launch. Season 5 was the most content packed season ever, but their was too much and too many bugs. To ensure this doesn't happen, we need to take time with their development.
We will be introducing Mods at the start of Season 7.
We're against using Marketplace content for our server, and never will.
All outsourced content you experience in-game has been made by developers or creators on MCPEDL (and other platforms) for free. We support free content creation for all. Microsoft deliberately gatekeep the Marketplace to maintain a profit-driven environment. Modding should be free, without influence from large organisations like Microsoft, that impose strict guidelines on content. It also helps us to keep the server free for you too, without any pay-to-win motives.
Our baseline rules can be found on our "Fair Usage Policy" page.
On top of these baseline rules are town rules, which you can find in the Towns page or alternatively on our Discord.
These town rules are enforced by moderators, and can get you banned if you violate them.
Town rules only apply in the areas that a town owner has claimed. You can see all regulations about this by clicking here.
Things don't always go to plan - which is why we've established the rollback system.
All information in regards to server rollbacks can be found by clicking here.
2024 is going to be a busy year. This is why development is slowing dramatically. Currently, we aim to release a major update every month that will add new features.
There's still so much we want to do with Season 6 - our MineKart gamemode, storyline progressions, and live events. But to make these experiences better than the level that was set in The Takeover event, we need time!
For this reason, there's no current expected release date for Season 7. We expect that it will launch sometime in February 2025, but this is a long time away and we want to end Season 6 with a 'bang'.
We want to make the SMP as fun as possible, but promoting a healthy balance of work, education, and wellbeing is important.
